We are seeking a Construction Commercial Estimator for a direct hire opportunity in Los Angeles, CA.
As a vital member of the team, you will be responsible for overseeing the build-out of our Commercial Construction Department. In this role, you will collect and analyze all applicable information from commercial leads to calculate construction costs and present company bids. You will also be equally responsible for fulfilling the duties of the Commercial Site Superintendent by providing production oversight for all awarded commercial projects.

Salary is $150,000 -$200,000 annually (based on experience)
Responsibilities for Commercial Estimator:
- Conducting project walkthroughs with clients and meticulously intake project scope details
- Preparing takeoffs from plan sets and estimating the cost of jobs
- Presenting detailed bids (including written scope of work) for submission
- Tracking all open bids and following up as needed to close leads
- Attending weekly meetings with the Production Team to review closed bids and implement a strategy to staff all commercial jobs accordingly
- Performing daily site visits to monitor the quality and accuracy of work on commercial construction sites
- Enforcing job site safety and ensuring production deadlines are met
- Drafting change orders as required
- Attending inspections (city or public works) as required
- Performing project walkthroughs with foremen and crews to ensure the scope of work is clear for all employees on site
- Leading daily tailgate meetings for each job site to review OSHA safety standards
- Coordinating with Foreman and Project Manager to discuss project goals, roadblocks, and alterations in project scopes
- Coordinating with all clients to address any/all project concerns as well as to perform final project walkthroughs to ensure customer sign off on all work

Qualifications for Commercial Estimator:
The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications:
- 10+ years of in-field masonry and concrete experience (in both commercial and residential sectors)
- 5+ years of managerial experience
- OSHA 10 Certification (required) & OSHA 30 Certification (preferred)
- Familiarity with Building & Safety Inspections, and all OSHA Safety Standards
- Ability to drive machinery (Bobcat, Backhoe, Excavator)
- Computer proficiency
- Valid Driver's License and Vehicle
- Willingness to spend long hours on the road every day
- Expert knowledge of the trade preferred, including block, brick, stone, stucco, concrete, tile, grading, machine work, precast, repointing, drainage, waterproofing, and blueprints.
